Public pools and aquatic centers : the WOW first market!

For almost 20 years, WOW equips public pools and aquatic centers all around the world. From New Zealand to Germany, from Japan to France, the Wave Ball brings an unprecedented originality to the animation of a ludic or sports pool.

Thanks to its various pre-programmed waves, the ball attracts young people (lapping in small deep) so well teenagers (touch the ball, play with floating objects) and adults (quite freely swim). Each person can enjoy in small, medium or big waves. With the rodeo mode, the ball moves randomly and then becomes an extraordinary companion to tame.

WOW intervenes for all kinds of pools: existing, new and in rehabilitation. Working on upstream projects¹, our research department finds a solution to integrate all kind of pool as soon as the first technical information are known.

The Wave Ball model is chosen according to the characteristics of the pool and the area to actuate, area which can be from 100m ² to over 1000m ². It is also possible to combine several balls in a same pool or in several areas to obtain spectacular effects.
Examples of integration are numerous: wave pool in a ludic area, waves in a sports pool, waves in a pool specially designed for the ball, ... (see photos).

Rescue centers : Training in real conditions !

Fighting against waves of more than 1.5m from crest to trough...

That can happen to you !

Conditioned reflexes instinctively reappear in case of distress situation and are therefore determinant. the gestures become reflexes only when you learn them successfully in a stressing distress situation. That's the reason why training in a realistic environment is so important !

By adding the adequate natural phenomena generators, that can be combined and controlled, it is possible to reproduce most of the natural sea environments and train in varied conditions, from the easier to the more difficult, to gradually learn the reflexes that will save lives.

WOW Company focuses on developing tailor made solutions for your project of infrastructure, or existing facilities.

With our specialized partners, we add if necessary :  wind, rain, fog, current generators if needed, as well as light and sound effects to recreate the environment you need for an optimal training.

Industry : Mixing, maintenance, suspension, oxygenation !

The Wave Ball and its industrial variants use the agitation technique by resonance with a floating agitator. It helps the process of holding active products in suspension within the liquids.

By this way, WOW enables the concerned industries to improve their yield and so to reduce their production costs and, indirectly to contribute to the respect of environment by a noticeable diminution of the produced wastes or of the consumed energy.

The originality of the WOW solutions is essentially based on the use of the resonance phenomenon.

This one usually results from an alternative transfer between two forms of energy (potential and kinetic) with a progressive growth of the energy hoarded in the system, thanks to a well-synchronized external contribution.

Since 1995, a first industrial application is operational at the dam of La Gileppe (Belgium) for already five years in order to mix calcite with water (too acid) in a pool of more or less 2.500 m³. The choice of the WOW agitator was made because of economical reasons, the investment being totally recouped after 18 months of working.

We are presently working on 2 big axis.

• On the one hand on a simplification and an adaptability of the present ball to the industrial constraints, that are :
  • More critical but less changing environment
  • Less demanding electrical distribution (the 12 Volts is not imperative anymore)
  • Lengthened duration of life 24h/24 (the working in pools is casual, continuous in industrial mixing)
  • Interaction with external sensors (varying depth, progressive viscosity,...)
• On the other hand, WOW is working on other efficient systems that only using the principles of action/reaction and resonance.

Private pools : The ocean at home !

For those who enjoy with unique objects, we propose to actuate their pool with a Wave Ball which can be specially decorated according to their wishes ....

With an artistic work or family colors, the Wave Ball will be for them a distinctive mark and will enjoy their spare-time activities.

As the ball is very simple to use, even most young people will be able to put it in motion.

For private pools up to 100m ², the "Wave It" is now available. With the Wave It, the ball disappears from the pool ...

Aquariums : Waves for fish !

In your aquarium, the Wave Ball generates high sea movements, the swell. The goal of the artificial waves we create is to reproduce the natural sea roughness by moving and by stimulating the fauna and the aquatic flora.

The biotope radiates a dynamic and luminous ambiance. The submarine world glitters thanks to the reflections from the water surface.

The noiseless working of the Wave Ball preserves visitor's comfort and respects fauna tranquillity.

The Wave Ball is easy to install and can fit any kind of aquarium. It is programmable on demand and offers the opportunity to simulate various conditions, from a calm pond to a raging ocean,...

The Wave Ball does not generate foam. The selected programming will allow a shallow or deep mixing that will improve water filtration and reduce stilt formation on settings.

Our engineering department, wave expert, can carry out studies, simulations, as well as for integrating the Wave Ball in your aquarium.

For the complicated projects where the Wave Ball doesn’t suit, our team of engineers will study an adapted and progressive solution for you with a Wavolution project.

Fountains : Waves scenery !

Decoration object, the fountain reflects a colourful image of the place where it is settled.

The Wave Ball will enhance and give unique energy to your fountain, either it is situated in a greenery world, a modern environment or inside a building.

Thanks to available colours and existing designs (simple ball or white golf ball), the WOW Wave Ball will allow you to personalize your fountain.

Wave It can also animate fountains.

Wellness

The Wave Ball is more and more used in the wellness centers or in relax activities, thalassotherapy, Chromato-therapy and is the perfect complement which allow the best relaxation.

The wavelets that the ball can produce are reassuring and rocking, it keeps the participants in form.

The little stronger waves used in aquagym give rhythm to the session.

The centers which choose a more intensive physical activity will choose strong waves in a pool very resonant- it’s the principle of “Waves frame”.

Publicity, cinema and animations

Cinema or publicity are punctually using the Wave Ball for its special effects as in Carlitos Way with Al Pacino. The waves are created on demand in order to create the requested effect. A WOW engineer supervises the project along with engineers of the set.

The Wave Ball is also used to create animations (boats, bumper boats, team games, attractions of adventures parks), and punctually at specific event (purely descriptive) or television (Nickel Odeon Games ...)
